What is Sonect?

Sonect is a Swiss company that aims to make cash accessible to everyone, everywhere. Sonect turns any cash register into an ATM, and with the TWINT App, you can use your phone to withdraw cash from participating shop.

How does Sonect work in TWINT?

Go to TWINT+ select “Withdraw cash”, then the Sonect App opens, find a participating shop nearby, select the amount and present the barcode at the register. The sales clerk scans the barcode and pays out the desired amount. The amount is then debited directly from your bank account.

Where can I withdraw cash with TWINT?

Cash withdrawals with TWINT are only possible at participating Sonect shop. Currently, these include all k kiosks and Volg, as well as participating bakeries, pharmacies, gas stations and restaurants. New shops are being added all the time.

Can I withdraw cash from any shop that offers TWINT?

What does it cost to withdraw cash with TWINT?

Cash withdrawals up to and including CHF 100 cost CHF 1. Amounts over CHF 100 cost CHF 1.50 per transaction.

Are there withdrawal limits?

The maximum amount that can be withdrawn with Sonect is CHF 200 per transaction. A monthly limit of CHF 1000 applies.

Are there cash limits per Sonect shops?

The maximum withdrawal amount depends on the cash availability in the Sonect shop. A maximum of CHF 200 can be withdrawn per transaction.  

What happens if I do not use the barcode?

If the barcode is not used within 15 minutes, it will expire.
