Sonect is a Swiss company working to ensure customers can get the cash they want, when and where they want it. The Sonect App connects customers in the community who need cash with local retailers that have cash in their shop tills that can be dispensed to those customers, free of charge.
No more worrying about finding a local ATM that is working or whether it will charge you to get your own cash. Sonect provide a service which gives guaranteed peace of mind, convenience and security, all without any cost to our customers.
Even before you leave home, a few clicks on your Sonect App can guarantee that your cash will be ready to be collected when you stroll down to the local shop of your choice. So, for the first time in the UK, a genuine “Click & Collect” cash service!
The Sonect service has been available in Switzerland since 2017 and our company is now expanding around Europe and further afield.
Download the Sonect User App from Google Play or App Store to your phone. Register for free and add money to your Sonect App Digital Wallet. Select the amount you wish to withdraw and choose a shop. Visit the shop and show barcode on your Sonect App at the checkout. The shop staff scan the barcode and hands over the amount of cash you selected.
The use of Sonect is free of charge in the UK.
Cash is available at all our partner shops in Burslem and Tunstall (Stoke-on-Trent) from early April 2021. Sonect has been chosen by the UK Community Access to Cash Pilot to provide our cash services to residents of Burslem and Tunstall. The service will expand around the UK following this 6 month pilot.
Your request for cash will expire 15 minutes after creation of the barcode.
If you have not collected your cash within 15 minutes of request, the barcode will be removed and the cash returned to your App wallet. If you still want the cash, simply repeat your request and you will receive a new 15 minute barcode.
You can load an amount from your debit card, credit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay onto your Sonect digital wallet. This process takes about 20 seconds. As soon as the money is credited to the App wallet, you can request your cash withdrawal at a local shop of your choice.
Credit or debit cards from Maestro, MasterCard, GiroPay and VISA, plus Google Pay and Apple Pay.
Simply download for free from Google Play or the App Store and enter your details – name, date of birth, address and contact details. At this stage, you can make your first transaction of £10. For further use, we need to do a simple security check. All you need to do is to use the Sonect App to scan your passport photo page. This is easy, fast and secure. Once complete, you are free to top up your wallet and withdraw cash when you need it.
Usually up to £150. The App confirms each time you make a request that the amount you want is available at the shop of your choice. We find that customers often take out small amounts of cash several times a week. Because it is a convenient and easy-to-use local service, customers tell us they seldom need to make to take out a large amount of cash at any one time.
After identity verification, you can load up to £800 at a time.
The balance on your Sonect digital wallet remains intact. If you want the balance to be transferred back to your bank account, simply contact our Support Team who will be happy to arrange.
Please contact our Support Team immediately and we will resolve the issue!
If there is an error with the shop’s barcode reader, the shop staff can simply enter the number from your barcode and the transaction will continue as normal.
